Day-wise itinerary

Day 1: NJP Railway Station/Bagdogra Airport – Gangtok (130 km | 4-5 hrs)

  • Morning
  • Upon arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) or Bagdogra Airport (IXB), you will receive a warm welcome from our representative. From here, start your scenic drive to Gangtok (125-130 km), the lively capital of Sikkim. The journey offers stunning views of rolling hills, lush forests, and the meandering Teesta River
  • After arriving in Gangtok, check into your hotel and take some time to shower up and relax. As evening approaches, enjoy a leisurely walk along MG Marg, the vibrant heart of Gangtok. This area is filled with cafes, shops, and a lively atmosphere. Soak in the charm of this clean and serene hill town before heading back to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 2: Gangtok – Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Harbhajan Mandir

    Start your day with a leisurely breakfast, and by 8:00 AM, and get ready for an exhilarating excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Harbhajan Mandir. The scenic three-hour drive takes you through a breathtaking zig-zag mountain road, offering mesmerizing views of rugged terrains and mist-laden peaks.

    At an altitude of 12,400 ft (3,750 m), Tsomgo Lake is a high-altitude glacial lake that reflects the changing beauty of the seasons. In winter, the lake remains frozen, creating a surreal, snow-covered landscape, while in spring and summer, vibrant alpine flowers add a splash of color to its surroundings. Considered sacred by the locals, the lake holds deep spiritual significance and is a must-visit attraction in Sikkim.

    Next, visit the revered Baba Harbhajan Mandir at 13,200 ft (4,000 m). Dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh, an Indian Army soldier, the shrine is steeped in legend. It is believed that even after his passing near Nathula Pass due to extreme weather conditions while transporting supplies, his spirit continues to guard the border. The temple is a place of great reverence for locals and soldiers alike.

    After the excursion, return to Gangtok in the afternoon and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Gangtok – Full-Day Sightseeing Tour

    After a hearty breakfast, set out for an exciting full-day Gangtok sightseeing tour covering the city's most famous attractions.

    Begin your day with a visit to Ganesh Tok, a revered temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Situated on a hilltop, this spot not only offers spiritual serenity but also provides stunning panoramic views of Mt. Kanchenjunga, the third-highest mountain in the world.

    Next, head to the Banjhakri Waterfalls, a picturesque 100-ft cascading waterfall nestled amidst lush greenery. This serene spot is perfect for relaxation and photography.

    Continue to the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, a renowned center showcasing the rich Tibetan-Buddhist culture, ancient manuscripts, artifacts, and thangka paintings. After an insightful visit, enjoy a thrilling ride on the Gangtok Ropeway, offering mesmerizing aerial views of the entire city and the distant Himalayan peaks.

    Drive to Tashi View Point, a famous spot to capture breathtaking views of the Kanchenjunga range and surrounding valleys.     The tour continues with a visit to Enchey Monastery, an ancient Buddhist monastery surrounded by pristine natural beauty. Finally, conclude your sightseeing at the Gangtok Flower Show, where you can witness a colorful collection of orchids and seasonal flowers, showcasing Sikkim’s rich floral diversity.

Day 4: Gangtok to Pelling (120 km | 6 hrs Drive)

    After a refreshing breakfast, check out from your hotel and begin your scenic journey to Pelling, a tranquil hill town in West Sikkim. The drive from Gangtok to Pelling is nothing short of mesmerizing, as you pass through lush tea gardens, winding mountain roads, and charming villages set against a backdrop of majestic Himalayan peaks. Along the way, enjoy the sight of cascading waterfalls and verdant valleys that make this journey truly unforgettable.  
  • Upon arrival in Pelling, check in at your hotel. After the 6-hour drive, you may want to unwind and relax in the peaceful surroundings. Spend the rest of the day at leisure—perhaps take a quiet stroll around the town, breathe in the fresh mountain air, or simply enjoy the serene views from your hotel balcony.

Day 5: Pelling – Full Day Local Sightseeing

    After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, prepare for a day filled with natural wonders and cultural treasures as you explore the best attractions Pelling has to offer.  Kick off your day with a visit to the Kanchenjunga Waterfalls, one of the most magnificent waterfalls in Sikkim.  The powerful cascade of water, surrounded by lush greenery and rocky cliffs, offers a refreshing experience and a perfect spot for photos.  Next, head to the Sewaro Rock Garden, a beautifully landscaped garden adorned with natural rocks, winding pathways, small streams, and well-maintained seating areas.  Continue your journey to Darap Valley, a charming and scenic village located just a short drive from Pelling. Inhabited by the Limboo community, the valley is known for its traditional Sikkimese lifestyle, terraced farmlands, and serene natural beauty.  After exploring the valley, take a break for lunch at a local restaurant or back at your hotel. Post-lunch, visit the historic Pemayangtse Monastery, one of the oldest and most important monasteries in Sikkim. Founded in the 17th century.  Stop by the Pelling Helipad Ground, an open space that offers uninterrupted views of the Kanchenjunga range.  Next, visit the Rimbi Waterfalls, another beautiful cascade located along the Rimbi River and  Continue to the mystical Khecheopalri Lake.  End your sightseeing with a visit to the Rabdentse Ruins, the former capital of the Kingdom of Sikkim.

Day 6: Pelling to Darjeeling 73 km | 4 hrs

    After breakfast, depart for Darjeeling, a charming hill station known as the ‘Queen of the Hills.’ The journey, though slightly winding, is scenic, offering views of lush tea gardens, flowing rivers, quaint villages, and old bridges.

    Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and unwind. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure, soaking in Darjeeling’s serene ambiance. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Day 7: Darjeeling – Full Day Local Sightseeing

    Start your day early at 4:00 AM with a drive to the iconic Tiger Hill (2,590 m), the highest point in Darjeeling.  On your way back, stop at the Batasia Loop,  and Ghoom Monastery.  After returning to the hotel, enjoy a hearty breakfast and continue your sightseeing tour. Visit the serene Japanese Temple,  and explore the adjacent Peace Pagoda.  Next, head to the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (closed on Thursdays), renowned for its conservation efforts and home to rare species like the red panda and snow leopard. Adjacent to the zoo is the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, and Continue to Tenzing Rock, a popular spot for rock climbing enthusiasts, named after the legendary mountaineer.  Wrap up your day with a visit to the scenic Chitrey Tea Garden (outer view), where you can marvel at the vast stretches of lush tea plantations that Darjeeling is famous for. 

    n the evening, take a leisurely stroll along Mall Road, the heart of Darjeeling’s social life. Enjoy shopping for local handicrafts, sipping a cup of Darjeeling tea at a cozy café, or simply soaking in the vibrant atmosphere.

Day 8: Darjeeling to NJP/Bagdogra Airport (IXB) (88 km | 3 hrs Drive)
